Amendments/Addenda
Johns Hopkins University publishes the Academic Catalogue annually in July. The Academic Catalogue may be updated at other times throughout the year as appropriate. In the event that updates are made to the Academic Catalogue JHU will post changes in the addendum section.
For new courses and course changes, including area designations, course attributes, and foundational abilities, approved after July 1, 2025 please see the JHU Course Schedule.
This page lists any changes to the catalogue, including newly approved programs or updates to policies, made after the publication date. A description of the change, date the change was made, and a link to the updated page will be included.
Amendments
October 7, 2025 - Effective Spring 2026 the Certificate in Health and Human Rights, offered through the Bloomberg School of Public Health, will be retitled as Public Health, Human Rights, and Law per MHEC approval.
August 29, 2025 - Update to Program and Completion policy for Carey Business School. New policy language can be found here.
August 18, 2025 - The Department of Epidemiology’s Certificate Programs section on the non-degree training page has been updated to include a link to the Gerontology Certificate. The link to the Social Epidemiology page was updated.
August 18, 2025 - Language has been added to the Health Security section of the Environmental Health, PhD catalogue page: “The Health Security track is not able to accept PhD applications in Fall 2025 for matriculation in 2026. DrPH applications, including for Health Security, remain open.”
August 7, 2025 - French Minor requirements change: Students are no longer required to complete AS.210.417 though they may choose to complete it as an elective. Students may choose to complete AS.212.353 or AS.212.354. The required number of credits to complete the minor is 18.
Errata
September 30, 2025 - A correction has been made to the Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory Grading Rules Specific to Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Students under Grading Policies: As of academic year 2024-2025, KSAS students in their graduating semester are no longer required to seek approval from the academic advising office exceptions committee in order to change a course to S/U grading. The other S/U rules specific to arts and sciences students still apply.
September 17, 2025 - The Regulatory Science, Master of Science, erroneously added Learning Outcomes under the heading Food. These have been removed from the catalogue.
September 17, 2025 - Requirements for the optional concentration (Legal/Regulatory concentration) in the Master of Biotechnology Enterprise and Entrepreneurship were inadvertently removed and can be found in the 2024-2025 catalogue archive.
September 5, 2025 - Course AS.145.503 was inadvertently left off of the History of Medicine, MA (on-site) course list.
August 20, 2025 - Course number change after publication: PH.550.610 is now PH.340.621 in the Global Digital Health Certificate. Students should check the BSPH course directory to confirm when the course is offered, and students should also check for pre-requisites and whether instructor consent is required.
