JHSON final grades in each course are rounded from the tenth place to the whole number. Semester and final official JHU GPA is rounded from the 1000th place.
Students are not permitted to repeat a course for which they have received a passing grade. For more information regarding repeating courses, please see the Academic Standards for Progressions policy.
Grade Appeals
Appeals involving course grades or other evaluation of the student’s academic work (excluding Progressions Committee decisions) may be addressed only if the dispute is due to a mathematical error or non-adherence to written course policy or instructions. If discussion between the student and instructor(s) does not resolve a dispute, the student may appeal to the relevant Program Director in writing within 10 business days of the final course grade being posted. The Program Director will consult with the instructor(s) and attempt to resolve any disputes, but the instructor(s) retains the final decision about the grade for the assignment or the course.
