Psychology Minor Requirements

A minor in psychology is available to undergraduates majoring in any department. Students electing to minor in psychology should declare their intention directly to the Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences by the end of junior year. All classes taken for the minor must be taken for a grade and be completed with a C- or better. Courses taken at another institution that are not directly equivalent to a JHU course may not apply toward the minor without permission of the Director of Undergraduate Studies.

The minor requires successful completion of the following:

Select three of the following:9
Introduction To Psychology
Introduction to Cognitive Psychology
Introduction to Developmental Psychology
Introduction to Social Psychology
Foundations of Brain, Behavior and Cognition
One psychology course at any level3
Two psychology courses at the 300 or 600 level6
Total Credits18

Additional notes:

  • Elective courses for the minor must be three-credit courses in the Psychology Department (AS.200) or cross-listed with Psychology.
  • Psychology-related courses from the Carey Business School or School of Education may not count toward the minor.
